Wall of Remembrance ‘늘빛드레(Neulbitdre)’
The memorial wall, ‘늘빛드레(Neulbitdre)’, was built to continue the noble spirit of the ‘June Democracy Martyrs’ from Busan who resisted the military dictatorship and sought to realize democracy and justice.
The faces and spirits of the three June Democracy Martyrs from Busan, Lee Tae-chun, Park Jong-chul, and Hwangbo Young-kuk, were engraved on stone.
It was unveiled on June 10, 2022, the 35th anniversary of the June Democracy Movement.
It was named in pure Korean, containing the meaning of commemoration, ‘succession’, and ‘respect.
‘늘빛(Neulbit)’ means ‘always shining’, and ‘드레(dre)’ means ‘personally serious weight’, meaning that the spirit of the martyrs with ‘always shining personalities’ ‘always shines’.
The June Democracy Martyrs of Busan are noble people who connect the beginning and end of the June Democracy Movement and the May 18 Democratization Movement to the June Democracy Movement.
