Democracy Flame
Democracy is made through the integration of sacrifice, pain, and endurance of numerous people.
Democracy Flame always shines as a symbol of Democracy Park, just like the wishes of the citizens who cried out for democracy to brighten the era.
This sculpture symbolizes nameless stars that showed their passion for democracy by installing small glistering pieces on the side of the sculpture.
It shows the process of sublimation to Democracy by unification of sacrificed and living people inside and outside, the ideal and the real, and inside and outside.
And it symbolizes the power of Busan to soar into the infinite space and time.
The Flame of Democracy, shown below through the open space of a round shape and seen as various shapes depending on the direction, is respected as a new landmark of unusual things (like a flying flame, flag, mast, and spaceship) that is located on top of mountain.
